Season 5 Reviews
The fifth season was regarded as one of the series' heaviest and most closure-oriented seasons. While the investigation built around Ruyter, the SRA, Beacon, and Harborlight forms the season's detective backbone, the discovery of Anna's body and Danny's resignation complete the series' emotional center. The more inward and quiet tone compared with previous seasons overlaps with Danny's grief process, though it may also make the pacing feel slow for some viewers. Hüseyin being held by the ISA and returning, his confrontation with Aileen, and the meaningful functions given to Miles, Nora Keane, and Douglas Reid strengthen the season's character balance. While the Beacon and Harborlight line is intentionally left partially open, the finale does not offer a definitive happy ending; instead, it creates a painful and quiet closure in which the characters continue living with their losses.
